Two men from north London have been jailed for firearms offences after a shooting in Waltham Abbey last year.

The incident happened when shots were fired at a house on Hayden Road shortly after 6pm on Wednesday February 2nd 2011. Nobody was injured.

Two days later, 27-year-old unemployed Jordan Epee-Homb of no fixed address was arrested in London and subsequently charged with one count of being in possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

On Monday, February 21, 25-year-old unemployed Nimbo Ngoma from Griffin Road in Tottenham, north London, was arrested in Harlow and subsequently charged with one count of being in possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

In December 2011 at Chelmsford Crown Court, Jordan Epee-Homb pleaded guilty to his charge while Nimbo Ngoma pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. Both were remanded in custody prior their sentencing at the same crown court on Monday January 30th.

Jordan Epee-Homb was given a four-and-a-half-year jail sentence while Nimbo Ngoma was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment.

Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Lucy Robinson, said: "A real firearm was used in this incident and discharged at a residential property while a young child was inside.

"These two men were involved in a reckless act because of an ongoing dispute. Essex Police will not tolerate the use of firearms in the county and we, as a force, will prosecute anyone who comes to the county armed with the intention of causing harm or fear."
