LaMonica Garrett has joined the cast of TNT‘s “The Last Ship,” Variety has learned exclusively.
He will play T.A.O. Cameron Burk in a heavily recurring role in the third season of Eric Dane’s Navy drama, appearing in at least seven episodes. Burke is a new tactical officer on board the Nathan James and is Lt. Carlton Burk’s (Jocko Sims) brother.
Most recently seen in Hulu’s “The Hotwives of Las Vegas,” Garrett also had a longtime role on “Sons of Anarchy.” His other credits include “NCIS,” “Veep,” “Black-ish,” “Arrested Development,” “Mr. Robinson,” “Mike & Molly,” “Revenge” and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”
From producer Michael Bay, “The Last Ship” revolves around a global catastrophe that nearly wipes out the world’s population, though the destroyer USS Nathan James avoids the tragedy, forcing its captain (Dane) and the ship’s crew to confront the new reality that they are among the world’s few survivors.
The TNT action-adventure series stars the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum, along with Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin, Travis Van Winkle, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Marissa Neitling, John Pyper Ferguson and Sims. Bay serves as an exec producer with Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Michael Katleman and co-creators/showrunners Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane.

The 13-episode third season of “The Last Ship” is set to premiere in summer 2016. Elisabeth Röhm (“Law & Order”) has also joined the cast in a recurring role.
